Yogayama

Client: Yogayama

Team: Hyper Island

My last project at Hyper Island was for a very traditional Yoga studio in Stockholm called Yogayama, and it was a great challenge implementing digital into a yoga space.

I conducted extensive staff interviews as well as customer interviews, to understand the business culture and beliefs and ended up with a solution which was visualising data in a much more observational way than saying you’re doing progress or not, since one of our key insights is that Yoga is about looking inwards and at the journey instead of looking at how successful you are.

So, even if we were displaying data, it won’t indicate whether that visualisation is good or bad – as well as giving the user the function of reflecting and keeping track on how they are feeling through the “self reflection”. Based on that visualisation of how you are feeling, you would get recommendations of podcasts, tutorials and classes to partake in to balance yourself.

Hype Space at LAIKA Hornhuset

Date: November / December / January 2014-2015

Client: LAIKA Hornhuset

Brief

After Hyper Island’s digital art exhibition in the beginning of fall 2014, Hornhuset asked us if we wanted to host a night every month at their new club LAIKA where Hypers could exhibit their art and network with creatives.

What is Hype Space

Hype Space was the after work event held at the bar LAIKA Hornhuset in Stockholm four times between November 2014 and January 2015. We exhibited paintings, interactive “vika gubbe” art, projection mapping and music from students at Hyper Island. I was also part of creating a web app quiz for drinks – read more about it here.

My Tasks

I was the project manager, so I was responsible for the communication with Hornhuset as well as the contributors of the art exhibited, bookings, time planning and making sure everything ran smoothly.
